CNN reporter Shanon Cook Interviews Anthony Field who shares his inspiring, behind-the-scenes story of how he overcame chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, addiction to painkillers suicide and more with the help of Dr. James Stoxen DC in his memoir of healing book entitled, How I Got My Wiggle Back.
THE TODAY SHOW, SYDNEY AUSTRALIA
Wednesday, February 29, 2012 Anthony Field appears on the TODAY on MSN, Channel 9 Sydney Australia’s Landmark Breakfast Program to discuss his book, How I Got My Wiggle Back where he claims Stoxen’s human spring approach saved his career and saved his life.
Anthony Field, the creator and a founding member of the world’s most successful musical groups for young children, The Wiggles, was handicapped by chronic pain, chronic, chronic fatigue, misdiagnosed fibromyalgia and depression during his 20 years on the road. Dr Stoxen is proud to say, he was able to assist him.
In 2012, Anthony Field wrote a book about how Dr Stoxen turned his health around which he claimed saved his career and saved his life, titled How I Got My Wiggle Back. It covers our consultation in detail and provides a comprehensive, plain-English explanation of Dr Stoxen’s unique, drug free approach, and the results, that changed his life.
Here is the story of his remarkable recovery.
In 2004, Anthony Field of kids’ music group The Wiggles, described being frequently gripped by anxiety, sadness, and negativity and described being suicidal” due to his widespread chronic pain and food sensitivities. Despite their great success in the U.K. and North America Field’s serious medical issues, worsened by a heavy tour schedule, caused him to consider quitting or reinventing The Wiggles.
Then Field met Dr. Stoxen in 2004 and was treated with the Human Spring Approach, made a remarkably fast recovery getting pain free with a 20-hour marathon treatment over the course of a weekend. Dr Stoxen’s incredibly fast all day treatment approach to reversing chronic pain was later nicknamed the “pain exorcism” by Field. Since then, hundreds of top entertainers and their handlers have been treated with this approach.
In 2012, Field published his book, How I Got My Wiggle Back where he claims Stoxen’s human spring approach saved his career and saved his life. He still performs with the Wiggles, today.
How I Got My Wiggle Back
by Anthony Field and Greg Truman
Part memoir, part fitness and health manual, How I Got My Wiggle Back chronicles the life of internationally acclaimed children’s entertainer Anthony Field, and details his remarkable victory in a 25-year battle with illness and injury.
A riveting and enlightening read, Field candidly reveals his personal struggles with depression, life-threatening illness and chronic pain, as well as outlining the unique health and fitness regimen that has been his saviour. The exercises in the book are all supported by photographs of Field demonstrating the routines, and the treatment options, dietary advice and strengthening programs have been developed in conjunction with Dr James Stoxen and Dr Rich Gringeri.
Offering fresh hope for millions of people suffering with chronic pain, the book’s blueprint is appropriate for men and women of any age who seek a practical and inexpensive way to improve their fitness.
Anthony Field is not the only celebrity to praise Dr. Stoxen’s approach. Since 2002 he has been hired by over 130 national tours of top entertainers. It is estimated he has been asked to treat over 1000 celebrity entertainers and their handlers.

What was Dr Stoxen’s Secret to Turning Anthonys Health around so fast?
Here the Wiggles introduce Dr Stoxen’s invention, the Massage Assist
Dr Stoxens deep tissue treatments release the inflammation and toxins from muscles. He knew he could speed recovery and improve human performance if he had a tool that could plow out this inflammation from the area and vacuum in fresh oxygenated blood carrying nutrients to the tissues. He spent 6 years developing an incredible new treatment tool that does just that.
He called it the Massage Assist. Dr Stoxen use the used the Massage Assist to relax the tension from Anthony’s body. When the tension came off his body it brought the spring back to his step easing his chronic pain and chronic fatigue. It not only eased Anthony’s muscle and joint pain, but helped to flush out the inflammation that was contributing to the brain fog and clinical depression he had been battling for years.
This therapy was so vital to his recovery he purchased two Massage Assist vibration massagers for the USA and Australia tours. Many top athletes and celebrities look to Dr Stoxen’s Massage Assist to ease tension, pain and increase human performance.
Dr Stoxen’s Massage Assist is now in 100+ cities around the world including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Koh Samui, Phuket, Munich, Kuala Lumpur, Ireland, Toronto, Brisbane, Mooloolaba, Melbourne, Sydney, Beijing, Seattle, San Diego, Niagara Falls, Houston, Los Angeles, Austin Texas, Boston, Manhattan, Indianapolis, Miami, Boca Raton, Las Vegas, Montana, Chicago, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hainan, and Manila Philippines.

Dr. Stoxen shares, “When we decided to go barefoot, Anthony looked at me strange. When we wear footwear it becomes a binding device and it inhibits the natural motion of the human foot”.
By ditching his shoes as much as possible and committing to Dr. Stoxen’s lengthy treatment sessions, Dr. Stoxen calls, ‘the pain exorcism’ and revamping his diet, Field says that he is free of the pain that almost caused him to quit the Wiggles in 2004.

Blue Wiggle’ describes road to recovery in new memoir

The first step of getting out of physical pain was Dr. (James) Stoxen in Chicago, a chiropractor who released me from back pain . . . and he started me on a path of looking at real natural cures. I was in so much pain all the time, and I was taking so much Advil and Nyquil to help me sleep, over-the-counter drugs, which don’t help your health at all. They kill your digestive system and slow you down. But he was saying there’s a way out of all this pain and quite incredibly it starts with your footwear and your feet. Then he gave me exercises to do off the ground, anti-gravity exercises. I could hardly do anything in the beginning.
Q: What is Dr. Stoxen’s theory?
A: It starts with the shoes. We’re binding our feet and that causes us to stop using the muscles in our feet. If you’re even a little bit overweight, it’ll put a lot of stress on your knees and hips, and that’s when inflammation starts. Inflammation brings pain and it also brings infections. So he got me strong from my feet up. My body started getting stronger, my diet changed and I felt so much better. One of the best things about physical exercise is the endorphins it creates to make you feel better – a natural high.
Wiggle dance
Behind the beaming grin and the blue skivvy, Anthony Field has battled near crippling depression and ill health, MEGAN DOHERTY writes
https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/wiggle-dance-20120322-1vkv0.html
Field married former dancer Miki in May 2003 and then collapsed a week later, infections from ”clumsy dental work” forcing him to have life-saving surgery. Things didn’t improve and in the middle of a US tour he contemplated opting out of touring with The Wiggles altogether.
But his life was about to change. Field found that the only relief he got from his aches and pains was by using chiropractors. On the US tour, he was introduced in Chicago to American chiropractor Dr James Stoxen who would go on to unlock the mystery of his ailments and give him a key to a happier life. Field had literally lost the spring in his step.
Stoxen diagnosed him as suffering from chronic arthritis, all stemming from problems with the muscles underneath the arch of his foot, those that ”facilitate the ‘spring’ as you walk”. The wear and tear on every joint of his body was promoting the inflammation. Treatment by the doctor, a better diet and strengthening exercises, including those on equipment such as rings, soon had Field throwing away his painkillers. And he also started walking barefoot as much as possible.

In his book Field writes of his his battle against depression: ”I’d spent tens of thousands of dollars and a good chunk of what should have been productive waking hours over the decades, receiving treatment, drugs and advice from prohibitively expensive doctors and experts,” he writes in his book. ”Touring for 30 years plays havoc with your internal clock, particularly when you start popping pills to kill pain or drift off on a plane for a couple of hours of sleep.”

The pivotal point in Field’s fat-to-fit journey came circa 2004, when he enlisted the help of celebrity Chicago chiropractor Dr James Stoxen DC.
- “He set me on the path to a real good way of looking at life and being able to carry out your normal daily functions and enjoy it because you feel better”, notes Field, now 48. The good doc’s advice helped the married father of three lose about 40 pounds, putting him at a sinewy 175. These days, Field maintains his weight at around 180.
- “For exercise, the doc told me I could do anti-gravity and bodyweight exercises to give me a leaner, longer body that can cope with dancing, jumping around and things like that”, he adds. “From that moment on, basically my exercises were on a gymnastics bar, or I use the rings and I support myself in all my exercises.”
This gymnastics-style-training, including one popular move called ‘Skin The Cat’, has strengthened his core big-time. As a result, his chronic back pain has vanished. It’s a workout routine that Field follows religiously despite the Wiggles hectic travel schedule that has the Fab Four from Down Under on the road eight months a year.

FOUNDATION FOR CHIROPRACTIC PROGRESS (F4CP)
IN 2012 ANTHONY FIELD BECAME THE OFFICIAL SPOKESPERSON FOR THE FOUNDATION FOR CHIROPRACTIC PROGRESS
Three months before Anthony’s book memoir of healing was to launch, Dr Stoxen read that The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness regarding the value of chiropractic care, was looking for a spokesperson for the profession for 2012.
Since Anthony’s book was going to be release in 2012 with Field’s inspirational story of overcoming a number of health conditions with chiropractic care, he felt having Anthony be the spokesperson would be a perfect match.
The board members of F4CP agreed and Field was appointed the spokesperson for the chiropractic profession for 2012.

Wiggling His Way To Wellness

One of the first chiropractors to lead Field to the path of overall wellness was Dr. James Stoxen of Team Doctors in Chicago, who has worked as a chiropractor to the Wiggles since 2004. Dr. Stoxen said that when he first met Field, he appeared on the outside as if he was very happy and healthy, when in reality, Field was at a point of physical meltdown.
“Anthony is the leader and spark for the direction of the Wiggles. So at that time, his limitations were the limitations of what level of performance was presented on their television shows and in their live performances,” said Dr. Stoxen.
Stoxen said he took the time to do a thorough examination of Field and was able to help him find the cause of his pain. Over time, the two worked to begin the healing process, which included preparing a training program to rebuild Field’s body.

Field’s journey to transformation included not only regular weekly chiropractic adjustments, but also simple anti-gravity exercises such as using his own body weight for strength training and using his foot muscles more often by walking barefoot. Ever since then, Field has followed the protocol diligently, gaining overall strength in all areas of his life.

Anthony’s story of how he beat the illnesses that threatened to end his career is both inspiring and instructive. He tells the riveting story of how two wonderful chiropractors (Drs. Richard Gringeri – Santa Clara, CA – and James Stoxen – Chicago, IL) isolated the root cause of many of Anthony’s physical problems and set him on the road to recovery.

ANTHONY FIELD: Maybe about five to six years ago, the whole cast had shin splints, very sore shins and sometimes, pulled muscles, sore muscles and hamstring going, things like that. So we’ve brought in a regime that everybody warms up half an hour before the show. We also, through the advice of Dr. James Stoxen in Chicago, we got everybody into these shoes the whole day that sort of stabilize your heels; they get it on during flights. That has reduced shin splints.

As he contemplated exiting The Wiggles, Field was introduced to Dr. James Stoxen DC, a Chicago chiropractor.
Having consulted medical specialists and experts around the world, the entertainer didn’t expect anything other than temporary assistance from the two specialists, instead, what he got was a new life.
How I Got My Wiggle Back details Dr. Stoxen’s unique physical treatment and training. In the book, Field discusses a round the clock 15-20 hour treatment marathon Dr Stoxen did that Field nicknamed the “Pain Exorcism” which focused on reducing Field’s bodily inflammation which Stoxen determine was linked to his chronic pain, fatigue and clinical depression.
Known as the chiropractor to the stars Dr. Stoxen will discuss the mountain of scientific evidence that identifies inflammation as one of the key culprits in the spread of chronic pain and diseases of aging. The centerpiece of Dr. Stoxen’s first presentation, Inflammation-Depression Connection, he will canvas the scientific literature and his clinical experience with the natural preventative and treatment methods he has developed which can have profound implications for depression sufferers and tens of millions facing premature aging and the rapid onset of diseases of aging.
Known as the Barefoot Running Doctor, he will also give his argument why he runs barefoot and why he recommends doctors prepare their patients for barefoot running to restore the spring to the step of their youth. Anthony Field has embraced the barefoot lifestyle and since then has remained virtually pain free for eight years since Stoxen’s intervention.
