He has accepted the appointment as the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Orthopaedic Science and Research effective immediately.

Dr Stoxen has a vast vision within the discipline of the science of communication coupled with the science of orthopedics and research. He will work diligently to assist in defining and adjusting the journals mission and to adapt to the evolving needs of the readership. He will accomplish this by consultation with other contributing members of the journal’s editorial board. He will also will work from this optimal position to maintain a broad overview of the review process through the other members of the editorial board.

Dr Stoxen intends to keep the editorial board energized and actively participating. Building an effective editorial board with top doctors and research scientists who remain active will be critical in ensuring the journal’s health and success. Each editorial board member should feel valued and have a sense of ownership over the journal. Keeping board members informed about the latest developments on the journal and soliciting ideas for future improvements will serve to improve the readership of the journal.

Dr Stoxen will assist the journal in appointing editorial board members who have research interests in line with the scope of the Journal of Orthopaedic Science and Research. Editorial board members will be well respected in the orthopedic community and involved in research and will have published in scholarly journals. Each board member should have substantial experience in reviewing manuscripts and an inclination to improve the journal.

Finally, Dr Stoxen will serve as the ambassador of the journal. He will introduce the journal to doctors at medical conferences he speaks at and invite doctors to publish and or read manuscripts in the journal.
